Lizz Fischer has been a professional keyboardist for the past eighteen years. She is at ease playing acoustic piano, electric piano, synthesizers, and the Hammond B-3 organ. She is proficient in many styles of music including Jazz, Blues, Gospel, R & B, Rock, Funk, World Beat, Raggae, Latin, Swing, and Popular Piano. Lizz has been the keyboardist for Blues legend John Lee Hooker and The Coast to Coast Blues Band since 1991.
Lizz studied with local Jazz great Smith Dobson, and has also taken lessons with Russ Ferrante (Yellowjackets composer/keyboardist) and Jeff Lorber (keyboardist/composer/producer).
In 1983, Lizz joined The Chris Cain Band. With Lizz, the band opened for major acts, toured the United States, Canada and Belgium, and recorded "Late Night City Blues". The band was also nominated for a Bay Area Music Award (Bammie), and several W.C. Handy Blues Awards, including Blues Band of The Year in 1988.
John Lee Hooker hired Ms. Fischer in 1991. Together they have headlined major festivals and concert venues, shared the stage with many gifted musicians, and appeared on several videotaped specials including Newport Jazz Festival on PBS, the Free Tidbit Concert, and Sunday Morning on CBS.
The love of her craft, years of experience and her dynamic stage presence make Lizz Fischer an asset to any musical event.
